The Town of Battleford offers tax incentives for commercial, industrial and residential development!
 
Residential Development:
 
No municipal taxes will be levied for a 3-year period, commencing 90 days from the date the building permit is approved.
 
To be eligible, individual(s) must construct a new residential dwelling or a new ready-to-move home in The Town of Battleford. Homes built for speculation purposes by contractors are subject to certain conditions. The incentive does not include existing homes to be moved into Town or Mobile Homes.
 
Commercial & Industrial Development:
 
New commercial or industrial buildings within the Town will receive an abatement on municipal property taxes for three years commencing 90 days from the date the building permit is approved.
 
To be eligible, individual(s) must construct a new commercial or industrial building in The Town of Battleford. Buildings built for speculation purposes by contractors are subject to certain conditions. The incentive does not include existing buildings to be moved into town.
 
Downtown Commercial Development:
 
Abatements for downtown development are up to eight years. Projects can include upgrades to existing building or a new build. Eligibility for the incentive is based on the value of the project determined by the Town's municipal building inspector. 
 
 Value of Project  Municipal Tax Abatement
 $50,000 - $99,999  100% abatement for 2 years
 $100,000 - $199,999  100% abatement for 4 years
 $200,000 - $499,999  100% abatement for 6 years
 More than $500,000
 100% abatement for 8 years
 
It is recommended to determine eligibility with Town Hall staff prior to submission of Building & Development Permits. This page should not be used as a complete guideline for Town incentives.
