Battleford is nestled between the banks of the scenic North Saskatchewan and Battle Rivers and offers an abundance of recreation opportunities. Finlayson Island provides residents and visitors a chance to see nature in its full bloom as well as year-round activities from cross-country skiing and walking trails to fishing and picnicking.
The Trans Canada Trail is the most ambitious endeavour ever embarked upon by the volunteer sector in Canada. When complete, an 18,000-kilometre recreational corridor will wind its way through every province and territory, linking over 800 communities along its route! This will be the longest trail of its kind in the world, connecting our regions, our three oceans and our people in a new way for generations to come. Our local section of the Trans Canada Trail now runs from Fort Battleford to the new bridge across the North Saskatchewan River. It can be enjoyed by walkers, joggers, and cyclists year-round.
Table Mountain Regional Park, one of the province's top-rated alpine ski areas is located only 20 minutes west of Battleford. Also located just minutes away are two challenging, natural terrain, grass-green golf courses.
The Battlefords Provincial Park located only 20 minutes north of Battleford, plays host to activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, camping as well as a top-rated 18-hole golf course and convention centre.
